I had an outstanding stay at the Pleasant Inn in San Diego that truly made my trip memorable and hassle-free from start to finish. The moment I arrived, the front desk staff greeted me with genuine warmth and efficiency, checking me in swiftly and offering thoughtful local recommendations for beaches, dining spots like the nearby Gaslamp Quarter, and even the best sunset viewing areas along the coast, all while ensuring my preferences for a quiet room away from the street noise were perfectly accommodated. My room was impeccably clean and modern, featuring a plush king bed with crisp white linens that provided the deepest, most restorative sleep I've had on the road, complemented by a spacious bathroom stocked with plush towels, high-pressure hot water, and thoughtful amenities like a coffee maker brewing fresh grounds each morning. The free continental breakfast was a delightful surprise—freshly made waffles, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, yogurt parfaits with granola, and a variety of fruits and pastries that fueled me for full days of exploring Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo, and La Jolla's sea lions without feeling rushed or overpriced. What stood out most was the exceptional value for such prime San Diego location, just minutes from the freeway yet tucked in a peaceful neighborhood, with ample free parking, strong Wi-Fi that never faltered even during video calls, and 24-hour fitness center access that let me maintain my routine seamlessly. The property itself sparkled with well-kept grounds, a sparkling outdoor pool perfect for a refreshing dip after sightseeing, and little touches like evening cookies in the lobby that made it feel like a home away from home; the housekeeping team was proactive, leaving fresh towels daily without intrusion, and overall security felt top-notch with keycard elevators and bright lighting. Pleasant Inn isn't just a budget-friendly gem—it's a five-star experience in disguise that exceeded every expectation, earning my highest recommendation and a permanent spot on my go-to list for future San Diego visits; I can't wait to return and bring friends along to share this hidden treasure!

I had a very difficult time with 2 previous hotels. Booked a room at Pleasant Inn and was very much satisfied. The front desk clerk, Tu, was extremely helpful, genuine, and professional. She went out of her way to help me and I hope she is recognized by the establishment for her service. Definitely would recommend this hotel, clean rooms, quiet, and perfect for quick stay.

It was a very clean hotel with everyday room services. Me and my husband are light sleepers so the room meet our needs which is very dark. The only thing we have to adjust is the noise level. People in and out quite late at night and the wall probably super old from many years ago construction style. Overall is a good experience because the location is close to our friends apartment and her store.

We booked a 5 night stay in a Queen room. Arrived a bit before check in time but was able to get our room upon arrival and the staff was very friendly. The room seemed a little dated but was clean and no smells. A/C worked well. Didn’t expect daily housekeeping but we did have it which was nice to have clean towels and a made up bed daily. Hotel was quiet for the most part. Our last night, there was a few people adjacent to our room out on the balcony talking and laughing loudly from around 1-3 am. Probably should have called the front desk but just put ear plugs in and went back to sleep. We had a travel pillow come up missing also on our last night there. Checked with the front desk desk and they had it there. Cleaning staff found it with the sheets and didn’t know which room it came from so they left it at the front desk where I was able to retrieve it. I would definitely stay here again as it was very convenient to food, shopping and only about 3 miles to where our daughter lives.

We stayed for 5 nights and 6 days, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Both the front desk staff and the gentleman who seemed to be the owner were very kind and welcoming. The staff always worked hard to keep everything clean, and the room was well maintained. Most importantly, I accidentally left one of my favorite shirts behind. When I returned after checking out, even though the room had already been cleaned, they had carefully kept my shirt for me. I truly appreciated their honesty and thoughtfulness. If you stay in a room located near the hallway, there may be a bit of noise. However, overall, I am very satisfied with the service and everything about this place. Above all, the location is excellent. It’s right off the 805 Freeway at the Clairemont Mesa exit, which makes it very convenient to get anywhere in San Diego. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

The room and property was clean, which I really appreciated traveling with kids. It was a little farther from the beach than our last trip motel, but this property was better maintained. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Hotel maid came by every morning to see if we wanted the room cleaned each day which was nice to come to a clean room after the beach. Keep in mind, the motel does not offer continental breakfast nor do they have microwaves in the room. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Since I arrived after midnight, I couldn't book a room on the website, and when I arrived at the hotel, I paid more for the room. There is a person at the reception 24/7, which is convenient if you are on the road and need to stay for one night. When I entered the room, I saw that it was clean, odorless, the bed was clean and fresh, there were towels and everything you need in the room. It's nice. The only thing I missed was an electric kettle to make tea. I marked it as a place to come to again. I recommend this hotel.

My sister was in the hospital at UCSD so I was looking for a good clean safe hotel at a reasonable rate. This one definitely fit the bill, and honestly above and beyond. The front desk staff during the day was exemplary. I came in at 4 AM to extend my stay and I found that person awake and helpful also. I was extending 2 to 3 days at a time and every time they accommodated me and kept me in my same room. The public areas always smell freshly cleaned and they have a nice lobby was sitting in space, which unfortunately I never used. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. It is within walking distance of several good restaurants. It met my needs and I was very grateful. It has a TV that gets numerous channels and a small refrigerator and coffee maker. No microwave. I would 100% recommend this hotel.
